Management Structure There are three locations: The North Carolina Maritime Museum in Beaufort and also in Southport and the Graveyard of the The maritime museums director is responsible for operations management, staffing, planning, coordination, finance, and leadership and reports to the director of the Division of State History Museums, who enacts broad divisional policy and ensures that the museum is in compliance. The key staff areas are: Education, Maritime, Exhibits, and Administrative. A senior curator heads each branch, which includes necessary support staff. Education does outreach to schools and community, conducts field trips, develops summer educational programming such as Junior Sailing and Science Camp, and offers lectures and special events throughout the year.
