N.C. Maritime Museum
. . . Administration
The Administrative Branch includes a business manager, an accountant, the museum's bookstore and its staff (including the permanent, full-time manager, and four part-time sales clerks), and a maintenance mechanic. The Cape Lookout Studies Program with its satellite facility also falls within the Administrative Branch.
The branch is responsible for local management of the $1.1 million state budget, personnel, sales, purchasing and receiving, 15 computers (including website editing), construction projects, and building, grounds, vehicle, vessel, and equipment maintenance. The Beaufort component alone is comprised of seven operational buildings and at least that many storage buildings. There is a fleet of nine motor vehicles, eight motor vessels, and countless operational sailing vessels. The field station at Cape Lookout is owned by the National Park Service, and utilized exclusively by the museum for public programs and research.
